From Pekka Halonen to Marja Pirilä - Finnish Art
28.5.-22.8.2010
Art collection owned by the Cooperative Tradeka Corporation. For decades fine art has been collected into the premises of the progressive cooperative – into offices, shops, cafés and restaurants. Because of this the Cooperation Tradeka Corporation has become an owner of a significant art collection from all around Finland. The collection consists of almost 600 pieces of fine art, from more than 200 Finnish artists. Works of art are acquired locally and focused on contemporary art. Besides oil paintings, also sculptures from different materials and graphics are included in the collection.
The core of the collection goes all the way from the beginning of the 1900s up to the 1980s. From the field of representative art there are on view both rural and urban depictions of work and everyday life. Also tendencies of modern art are well represented from the free form informalism of the 1960s to the more geometrical modernism of the 1970s and 1980s. Now, after few years of quiet life, the art collection of Tradeka has been launched to increase. The latest acquisitions come from leading Finnish contemporary photographers.
